Dear Professor Kein,

Good afternoon, Professor Kein. I hope you had a wonderful spring break. In this letter, I will be reporting on my progress on the research paper for HUM 102 L64 class. I will explain what I have accomplished so far, what I still must complete, what problems I have faced, and what my specific schedule for completing this report.

I have polished my research question as well as assembled my annotated bibliography on my sources that I am currently using. I have not yet written an introductory paragraph for my paper, but I have written multiple paragraphs pertaining to the basic idea of my project, as well as an explanation on the areas that I would like to implement my program. At this moment, I believe that I have almost enough sources to use for my research paper. I will most likely need at most two more library sources that have more to do with medical diagnosis and implementation of a machine learning artificial intelligence into a program. I still need complete an introductory paragraph with a compelling thesis statement that sets and provides a good introduction for my paper. I also still need to scavenge through some of the sources I have listed for more pertinent information regarding the medical diagnosis aspect of my project. I may also have to alter the way that my paragraphs are ordered to create a more coherent and logical flow of information. The problems I have faced so far are mostly in the medical aspect of my proposal. I am finding it quite hard to find a reliable source that will help me solidify my claim that the medical diagnosis done by the program will be reliable. I am also finding it difficult to depict my proposed program in a compelling way. Since I will not be actually creating a program for this paper, it is hard to describe the details on the program. At this point in time, I am certain that I will finish a draft of the paper by March 29th. I will finish writing up an initial draft by Saturday March 26th. I have a meeting scheduled with the writing center on the week of March 28th, to have another pair of eyes look at my paper.
Sincerely,

Taiga Akiyama
